BENEFITS OF IMPROVING YOUR HOME

INCREASE HAPPINESS

Being surrounded by a space you love, appointed with colors, materials, fixtures and selections you like, and feeling content and comfortable in that space has been proven to increase levels of happiness and feelings of wellbeing.

INCREASE YOUR PROPERTY VALUE

Updated properties are more valuable to most buyers.  People often want a move-in ready home instead of an outdated one that needs work.

BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE

Properly designed spaces ensure the best functional use of the space, tailored to how you live.  This results in better organization and better flow.  You’ll spend less time trying to make your space work for you, and more time on things you enjoy.

THE PROCESS

1. START WITH A QUALIFIED DESIGNER

It’s important to partner with an interior designer who has training and experience in construction and renovations from the moment you consider renovating.
Your interior designer, alongside your contractor and architect, can develop a new design that will meet and even surpass what you thought possible.
We work closely with you, understand your needs and desires, and also work closely with the builder, contractor, and tradespersons.  We help facilitate the process, maintain clear communication, and ensure the shared vision of the project becomes reality.

2. ASSESS THE POSSIBILITIES

Major or minor?  We assess how minor changes and updates can compare with a major remodel for your home.
It’s possible minor updates can achieve the more modern look you want – without having to involve construction.  Changing cabinets, countertops, flooring, paint colors, light fixtures, and plumbing fixtures can make a dramatic difference on the look and feel of the interior and exterior.

“This project turned out better than we imagined.  The difference is incredible and we love our Master Bath.  Thank you for making it possible!”

3. ESTABLISH YOUR BUDGET

What would you like to invest?  We can assist with determining a realistic rough budget.  Establishing budget at this point helps create a balanced plan of where your money is going.  We will confer with the contractor, builder and other professionals to help you determine overall rough costs, and develop rough costs for fixtures, material selections, lighting, all the way down to furniture, if applicable.  Budgeting also keeps material/fixture selections in check, ensuring those costs are appropriate for the project level as well.

4. DEVELOP THE CONCEPT

We work closely with you to understand your goals, needs, desires, and inspirations for your project.  Any and all inspiration photos, examples, styles, colors, feelings, any direction you can provide regarding how you want your finished space to be, is needed.  This information helps us form concept designs, and helps us collaborate with the architect, engineer, contractor, and trades on your behalf.

Our concepts begin as hand sketches and then are fine-tuned into floorplans and architectural drawings. We use AutoCAD to create all interior drawings, floorplans, detail drawings, built-ins, special architectural elements, and special feature designs.  With AutoCAD, our designs are precisely drawn to scale and finely detailed to communicate your new space to all the professionals and trades involved in creating it.  Note: any load-bearing or structural parts/elements involved in your drawings will be handled by a licensed architect, engineer; we do not certify load-bearing/structural elements but work alongside those professionals that do.

5. AND THE WORK BEGINS…

Depending on the complexity of your project, permitting requirements, and your contractor’s schedule, work begins after the design is approved.  Selections/materials/fixtures are finalized, purchases are made, installations are done, and you start to see the transformation take place.  It can be very exciting to see the “old” become “new” again.
